What is PALS?

PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) is specialized training designed to equip healthcare providers with the knowledge and skills to respond to pediatric emergencies. Bayside CPR offers AHA-certified PALS courses.

Being PALS certified demonstrates your competency in providing advanced life support to infants and children, as recognized by the American Heart Association.

Your American Heart Association(AHA) PALS certification from Bayside CPR is valid for two years.

PALS training is essential for healthcare providers who may encounter pediatric emergencies, including physicians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and emergency medical technicians.

Bayside CPR offers three convenient options:

  • Traditional: Attend a full in-person PALS course.
  • Blended Learning(Fast Track): Complete the online AHA HeartCode PALS, then attend a skills check-off at Bayside CPR.
  • RQI Self-Guided Station(Most Popular): Complete the online portion(included) and skills check off at our RQI station.

Our PALS classes cover a wide range of topics, including:

    • Recognition and management of respiratory emergencies
    • Recognition and management of cardiac arrest
    • Post-resuscitation stabilization
    • Team dynamics and communication

The length varies depending on the option you choose:

    • Traditional: Approximately 10 hours.
    • Blended Learning(Fast Track or RQI Self Guided Station): Online portion 2-4hrs + in-person skills check-off (15 to 30 minutes).

AHA PALS certifications are valid for two years, regardless of how you complete the training. Whether you are doing the traditional all in person, the blended learning(fast track), or the RQI Self Guided station you will receive the EXACT same official American Heart Association eCard, there is absolutely no difference as all of our training is American Heart Association.

The AHA requires having access to the PALS Provider Manual.  Books are available for purchase at our conveniently located training locations. We also provide a helpful study guide located under our resources tab on this website.

Bayside CPR does not issue CEUs or CMEs. If you need CME credits, you can claim those as well by clicking on “Claim CE Certificate” They are not required for the class. This is only if you need them and your governing body needs something other than a completion certification from the AHA.

We have multiple convenient locations across Maryland and Washington D.C. to serve your needs for American Heart Association Certifications for BLS CPR, ACLS & PALS.
